Splat Magazine
My experience with Splat Magazine.
I paid for a yearly subscription to Splat Magazine last summer (July 06). After 4 months went by and I had not received an issue, I sent Splat an email inquiring about my subscription. I received no response.
In December 06, Splat called me, and left a message on my cell asking to call them & confirm my shipping address. I called the # they left, though it is not available from Canada. I went to there web site and emailed there "subscriptions/change of address" department assuming this would clear up the issue. No response.
In the last 2 months I have emailed Splat Magazine 4 times asking simply for a response, and maybe a tiny bit of customer service. Nothing, not one reply.
Two days ago I sent them one final email asking for a refund of the yearly subscription, and a friken reply. Nothing.
So, I'm done with Splat. I will never open there magazine again.
Is this the type of magazine you want to subscribe to? Is this how you would like to be treated?

I am having the same problem with Honda Tuner Magazine...they say 6-10 weeks for the first one to come...its been 11

similar thing happened to my friend with FACEFULL it turned out they wouldn't ship it to him or something like that ... it took a month or so to get his money back so it could possibly be your problem or lost in the mail or wrong address ect.

My issue is the customer service. I understand things take time, things may get lost in the mail. All I wanted is a reply to one of my many email, and I did not get one.
I don't know a single company that could have such bad customer service and succeed.
So, they lost my business for good. And I hope people know what they are in for when they plan on dealing with them.

I read APG (Action Pursuit Games). I like the articles and think that it's pretty good.

Argh Popular Science mags too, blasted customer service.

it's because most magazine companies don't care all that much about Canadian subscribers- they think because we don't have as many people that we don't read those things.
-
You may want to let them know that you will report the problem with both the Canadian and American Postal Services if you do not recieve a refund for your paid subscription.
May be surprised how quickly they will respond. Be sure to let them know that they need to leave a number that works in Canada if they leave a message on your phone again.
I had direct contact plus an additional year with Facefull after my subscription problems.
Good luck.

If you have an old Splat take the direct no. for subsciptions out of there, the 1-800 is just for the US, call them, or write them. Although many of us consider Email a normal and proper form of communication, many companies has serious issues with email and may not consider it a primary form of contact esp. due to email spam filter issues, and lack of people trained to deal with electronic communications. Many small businesses (specialty magazines) focus on old world techniques and short change many modern (younger) users that are E savy. Such is life in Canada dealing across the border. You think that is bad try dealing with a company from Europe I currently am looking at loosing 140$ because of TomTom and they are impossible to get a hold of.

we should go down to the states and shoot them :)
